I have committed myself to improving how faith-based communities (“FBCs”) address inequality. Graduate work in Urban Studies will amplify my ability to change how faith-based communities interact with cities, suburbs, and the people and structures within them. Specifically,
1. I will help FBCs understand and serve their communities wisely, with high impact, sustainable, transformative interactions.
2. I will be a translator between Urban Studies and FBCs by bringing best practices, research discipline, and conceptual frameworks to FBCs to incorporate into their thinking and program development. I also hope to inform Urban Studies with insights gleaned from literally thousands of years of faith-based “world serving”.
